1. Listen and follow directions.
2. Raise your hand before speaking or leaving your seat.

-K-8th grade students who show genuine kindness and go above when following classroom rules may get a special reward called THE BLUE BUCKET.
-The day they earn the Blue Bucket prize they can earn either a piece of candy, (K-5th) treasure chest prize, or (6-8th) Hydroflask sticker.
-Their name will also be entered into a drawing at the end of the quarter according to their grade band to receive a grand prize.
-1st) Verbal Warning- Mrs. Cox will give a verbal warning for the student to correct any misbehavior.
-2nd) Time Out- A record will be kept in the “Behavior Log” Mrs. Cox will have a conference with the student. (Possible "time out" at recess.)
-3rd) Parent and Homeroom Teacher Notification.- Communication will be send to the parent regarding behavior in art class. This consequence will be issued if the student needs several reminders during one class period or for repeat offenders. (Consequence will also be given in Homeroom)

-3rd) Parent Notification and Lunch Detention-Parents will be notified for repeat offenders or after several reminders to follow the classroom rules during one class period.
-Parents will be contacted and detention will be issued if necessary in cases of major or constant misbehavior.
- Typically students will not be required to bring anything to art class other than an art smock on messy art days. On the occasion that students are required to bring a special item or assignment, students and their homeroom teacher will be notified ahead of time. Mrs. Cox will notify parents if their student is unprepared and a consequence will be implemented if necessary.
Teacher Points
-Mrs. Cox earns a point each time a rule is broken. If Mrs. Cox earns three points, she takes away the “A” on the Class Rules Board. If she earns four points, she takes away the “R.” After five points, she takes away the “T.” The goal is to keep all three letters throughout the entire class period.
Earn the Blue
- Keep all ART letters =GREAT day (Blue stick in class pocket)
- Keep one or two of the ART letters= OKAY day (Yellow stick in class pocket)
- Keep zero ART letters= OKAY day (Red stick in class pocket)
-The class with the most “blue sticks” at the end of each quarter will earn a free art day, and pockets will be emptied so we can start over.
- Kindergarten through fifth grade will compete for the best-behaved art class.
- No regaining a letter after losing it.
Dependent on the Behavior Log
- Sixth through eighth grade students will be disciplined individually based on behavior, staying on task, and being prepared for art class.
-At the end of each quarter, violations will be tallied by class. The class with the least amount of violations will get to pick their seat for the art period or earn a special prize.
