Jim Mazzolla is currently the Freshmen boys basketball coach at Central Dauphin High School. He has held this position since 2018, except for the 2021-2022 season when he was a volunteer coach. Jim began his coaching career in 2004 as a volunteer baseball assistant at Bluefield College (Bluefield, VA) Since that time he has gained valuable experience coaching baseball and basketball at a variety of levels.
A 1999 graduate of Central Dauphin East High School, Jim lettered in Baseball and Basketball during High School. Jim continued his athletic career at Bluefield College where he was a 4 year starter and 3 time team captain as a member of the baseball program.
After College Jim joined the East High Baseball coaching staff. He was an assistant for 5 years and a head coach for 7 during his tenure at East. From 2008-2012 Jim coached the Central Dauphin Middle School boys basketball team.
While at Bluefield College Jim graduated with a degree in Exercise Science. Jim then continued his education at Lock Haven University and earned his teaching certificate in Health and Physical Education. He also received his masters from Lock Haven in Alternative Education.
Jim has a passion for teaching the game and also helping athletes improve as young men. Jim teaches Health and Physical Education at Central Dauphin Middle School where he has been since 2007. Jim resides in Lower Paxton Township with his wife Kim and son Derek.
