What is Globalization?

The purpose of our course is to help you understand the world of politics that provides all of the connections that you know or do not know that you have with the rest of the world. To this end, globalization seems like an ideal place to start. Globalization is the process of increasing interconnectedness among societies such that events in one part of the world increasingly have effects on peoples in societies far away. In a globalized world our political, economic, cultural and social activities are not only more interconnected but they are also more likely to have an impact on us. Because of this we feel less isolated from those in other parts of the world. Globalization is not some entirely new phenomenon in world history, many argue that it is merely a new name for a long-term feature.
