MULTICRAFT PROGRAMMES
Provider: Victoria Recreation Club (VRC)
The perfect way to experience every water craft VRC has to offer. This 5 day programme will slowly progress students from craft to craft progressing from more stable and introductory activities to those that require higher skill levels. Not only will students be able to learn the fundamental skills of paddling and water safety, they will also get to explore the amazing waters and islands that surround Deep Water Bay or Emerald Bay.
Suggested Weekly Schedule (may change based on weather and attendance):
Monday: Kayaking - Build confidence in the water and learn the basics of paddling the easy sit-on kayak with a small tour to neighbouring islands.
Tuesday: Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) - Master the art of standing up on a paddleboard, enjoy balance exercises, and explore different water conditions on your SUP.
Wednesday: Surf Ski - Experience the thrill of surf ski, develop speed and technique, and challenge yourself with balance and paddling drills.
Thursday: Dragon Boat - Experience the teamwork and coordination of paddling a dragon boat, develop your paddling technique, and enjoy a group paddling adventure.
Friday: Outrigger Canoe - Discover this Southeast Asian canoe, enhance your rhythm and balance, and participate in an invigorating team paddling session.
What to bring:
Water shoes (no sandals, no running shoes)
Comfortable swimwear and a towel
Sunscreen and a hat
Water bottle and snacks
Team spirit, enthusiasm, and a sense of adventure!
*Activities are subject to change based on weather conditions
Advance weather warning: In the event of a typhoon, heavy rain or any other inclement weather that is forecast, and in force on or before 6am, a cancellation notice will be sent out.
On the day: In the event of bad weather on the day such as lightning or heavy rain, the club will coordinate with CDNIS and decide whether to delay the start time or cancel.
In both of the above cases, the club will make best efforts to reschedule courses to a suitable time.
No refunds will be offered due to cancellations caused by inclement weather.

Dragon Boat & Outrigger 6 Summer Camp

Are you ready to dive into a week dedicated to the thrill of Dragon Boat and Outrigger 6 paddling? Our Dragon Boat Camp & Outrigger 6 Intensive Week is designed for teams who want to focus on these two iconic water sports. Whether you're a seasoned paddler or new to team watercraft, this program will challenge your skills, build teamwork, and create unforgettable memories on the water.
This program is designed to alternate between Dragon Boat and Outrigger 6 paddling, allowing teams to focus on the unique skills required for each watercraft.
Dragon Boat Days: Focus on synchronization, power, and endurance. Learn to paddle as one unit, with an emphasis on timing and teamwork.
Outrigger 6 Days: Develop rhythm, balance, and coordination. Outrigger 6 requires a different paddling technique and a strong sense of teamwork to navigate the canoe effectively.
Race Day: The week culminates in a friendly competition, where teams can showcase their progress in both Dragon Boat and Outrigger 6 paddling.
Suggested Weekly Schedule (may change based on weather and attendance):
Monday: Dragon Boat Basics - Kick off the week with an introduction to Dragon Boat paddling. Learn the fundamentals of paddling technique, timing, and teamwork. Practice basic drills to synchronize your strokes and build team cohesion.
Tuesday: Outrigger 6 Fundamentals - Shift focus to Outrigger 6 paddling. Discover the unique rhythm and balance required for this traditional Southeast Asian canoe. Practice basic paddling techniques and learn how to work together as a team to navigate the water smoothly.
Wednesday: Dragon Boat Drills & Endurance - Dive deeper into Dragon Boat paddling with advanced drills focused on endurance, speed, and precision. Work on synchronizing your team's strokes and improving your overall paddling efficiency.
Thursday: Outrigger 6 Team Challenges - Take your Outrigger 6 skills to the next level with team challenges. Engage in balance exercises, rhythm drills, and team paddling sessions. This day will test your coordination and teamwork as you navigate more complex water conditions.
Friday: Dragon Boat & Outrigger 6 Race Day - End the week with a thrilling race day! Compete in both Dragon Boat and Outrigger 6 races, putting your team's skills, coordination, and endurance to the test. Celebrate your progress and teamwork with a fun and competitive finale.
VRC aims to make camps fun, safe and physically challenging. Students will be required to take a 100 meter swim efficiency test.
This camp will take place at Victoria Recreation Club in Deep Water Bay.
