My idea was to have a very modern simple desert setting painting. I wanted to paint something that could teach me about mixing colors and that was simple so i thought this image was perfect. I have decor like this in my house and i really like it so i thought i would do something similar. I started off drawing my mountains and the outlines of the cacti with a pencil. I then mixed a little bit of white with black acrylic paint to get an ashy black and used that for my first layer. I added more white for my second layer. Once i got to the pink i used crimson and white to get this color and for the next few layers added more white. Then i took the smallest paintbrush i could find and finished painting the cancti. When an audience sees this i want it to be easing to their mind and peaceful. I struggled while doing the cacti because of how small they are and i had to have a really steady hand but once i learned how to control my paintbrush better it got easier. If i were to redo this painting i would paint the cacti first do avoid painting out of the lines. I would classify this painting as realistic. This painting is personal to me because i like peaceful photos, paintings, and drawings because its calming and while looking at it you dont have to think about whats going on its just enjoyable to see.
