My idea was to do something colorful, and then I was getting ready to start mixing colors, and I wondered how it would look just black. I started by tracing out the drawing, and then I used a very tiny paintbrush to fill it in. This artwork means a lot to me because even without all of the colors, the flowers can be beautiful. I want the audience to think about how they can feel so dark sometimes, but that doesn't mean they aren't special and colorful on the inside. For me, it was difficult to be precise with the paintbrush, but I wouldn't change anything about this painting. I would say this is a sort of realistic painting because it is flowers, just without all of the color.
