my main inspiration is Chinese jade sculptures and art pieces. im interested in this because they have been using jade for over thousands of years and have made many artifacts that are around till this day. im also inspired by Chinas use of jade due to just how long they have doing this as the latest records of jade artwork goes all the way back to 9000 years ago.
i used a slump bowl in order to sculpt my work. i would then press a patterin into the bowl so it would like great. and i used jade and teal colored glaze in order to give it its nice rich green look.
it mainly represents my respect and fascination for Chinese culture and how their history is so rich and full even all the way back 900 years ago. it also goes to show just how influential Chinese culture can be around the world.
this taught me to look out into other countrys history and past in order to find out ways to expand my range of creativity and my ability to imagine even greater ideas. and from this i learned that if you take a look back in history it can open up your mind in ways you never thought you could
