Artist Name: Liam Seikola
3x5x5 inches, it uses stoneware clay, and it was made in 2026
my main inspiration is vita carnis and trevor henderson which are both horror genres (analog horror and creepy-pastas specifically). I wanted to do a cup that is unsettling and feels grotesquely alive, and i used vita carnis as inspiration for the cups texture and look ( fleshy and alive). And i also used trevor Henderson artworks for the design of the cup and how it was assembled ( the eyes and bone legs).
I used a push mold for my bowl (pushing clay into a bowl to give it a bowl shape). and then i let it dry out so it could be taken out of the bowl without deforming. after that i would smooth out any cracks in the bowl to give it a smooth but kinda bumpy an skin like texture. and i decided to use churn plum and firebrick as my colors to give it a raw meat color and wet texture. I also used black and iron yellow to give the eye its colors. after applying 4 coats of glaze it was cooked in the kiln.
Its ment to represent my intrest in monsters, creatures, and horror. i want people to see that i have a wide variety of inspiration and possibilities as with monsters you are ment to make stuff that isn't possible. and in the relm of impossibilities there is no limit to what you can do.
this tought me to really push my imagination and inspirations to make this ceramic piece due to not having done this stuff before. it also taught me how to get the colors and textures i want by using the right colors and techniques.
Its art style is a realistic horror. i find it uniqe to my style as i am a big fan of many horror stories and seiries so i thought of ways to bring that intrest to physical form in potery and ceramic art.
