Begin (or continue) your study of Algebra. Our former Alg. 1 and Geometry curriculums are being offered in a “go at your own pace” format. Using technology and multiple supporting teachers, students will be able to excel at their own rate as they prepare for Algebra 2, SATs, graduation, and beyond.
Based on the proficiencies they have already mastered, each student will learn new skills and improve their problem solving. Motivated students may independently forge ahead. Students who did not gain proficiency in past Algebra classes can target the specific skills they have not yet gained. The class will offer direct small group instruction, independent learning using electronic materials, one-on-one check-ins, and larger group investigations.
Indicators addressed:
2a. Use equations, inequalities and functions to model and interpret situations.
2b. Reason quantitatively and use units to solve problems.
2c. Evaluate and Simplify Expressions.
2d. Solve equations and inequalities with one variable and be able to explain your reasoning.
2e. Understand what a function is and can graph linear functions and inequalities. (standard form, slope-intercept form, horizontal, and vertical lines)
Do you need to strengthen your basic math skills to help you understand algebra? This semester class will teach number patterns, measuring, estimating, sorting, and solving real world problems.

Algebra 2 is recommended for students who are interested in post-secondary study. This course is a teacher-paced advanced Algebra class. The main focus is Quadratics. Students will learn to graph quadratic functions and solve quadratic equations. Students will also study polynomial, radical, and exponential functions.
(Pre-requisite: Algebra 1)
Indicators addressed:
Math (Beyond)
Pre-Calculus is recommended for students who are interested in post-secondary study. This course uses graphing technology to study problem situations analytically, graphically, and numerically. Algebraic modeling is stressed in the following topics: polynomial and rational functions, exponential and logarithmic functions. Trigonometry (triangles and waves) will be the main topic of the second semester. The second semester may be taken without the first semester.
(Pre-requisite: Algebra 2)

Math (Beyond)
This course will prepare students for college level mathematics. Graphing calculators will be used extensively. Topics include limits, differentiation, integration, logarithmic and exponential functions, and volume of solids of revolution. Students may choose to take the course for college credit through SNHU.
