Between the end of the school year and the beginning of the marching band season, so many things had changed that the band didn't even have a drum major until mid-July! That didn't stop them, however, from thriving under the new direction of Mr. Wells, and placing 2nd at their first competition.
The band continued to perform well all season, and despite taking 7th at state, they only came in 5 points behind the leader - meaning it was an incredibly close competition.
They also found success at BOA, where they placed the highest of any band their size, and scored better than several bands who were much larger than them. The band can take pride in knowing that their individual precision on the field was taken note of.
The long and anticipated wait for the marching band uniforms finally came to an end following the close of the 2017 marching band season.
They are sleek, beautiful, modern, and will be a wonderful trademark of the Ridgeline High School Marching Band.
The Ridgeline Concert Band made state for the second year in a row, and achieved a perfect score (straight 1's) at the region festival.
