We are in need of you! Your talents and your experience to make this band all that it can be! In fact, one of the best and most rewarding ways to be a part of the Ridgeline High School Marching Band Family is to volunteer!
Not only does it give you a "front row seat" to your child's band or color guard experience, it shows that you care about what's going on in their life. It takes a (large) village to keep everything running, and it could not be done without our fantastic volunteers.
See below for an overview of some of the various volunteer areas. There are many, many ways to donate your time and talents. All are welcome!
Moving a large group of students from the school to the stadium to the performance and back requires lots of buses and lots of chaperones. It's a great way to get to know the kids and other parents! Chaperones are needed to ride buses to & from competitions. Whether you can help out once a week or once a season, we'd love to have you "on board"!
Pit Crew & Props
The pit crew is responsible for loading, unloading, and staging band equipment at marching band competitions. It also holds occasional workdays for prop construction, equipment storage, and other ad hoc events, usually on a weekend. The crew consists primarily of parent volunteers of the band and guard members (not solely the percussion “Pit” band parents). All are welcome!
Food Crew
It takes a lot of effort to keep our marching band and color guard members fueled up and ready to go! The food crew provides meals, beverages, and snacks during band camp and on competition days. Helping feed the band is a great way to get to know the kids. (It's fun to hear them practice too!) Consider volunteering for a couple of hours, once a week or once a season. Even more, opportunities are available during the contest trips. We'd love to have you join us!
Uniforms
It takes many hands to keep our kids looking spiffy week after week. During the preseason, the uniform committee needs lots of help to fit and assign uniforms; on competition days they are on hand to make sure the band looks as perfect as possible. t's a great way to get to know the kids! Please consider helping out...many hands make light work!
Spirit Committee
The Spirit Committee helps keep the kids hydrated and happy. Spirit committee members also put together goodie bags for contest trips filled with various treats and goodies. And the year ends with our recognition of the amazing band and graduating seniors at the band banquet. Help and donations are always needed, so please consider volunteering!
And last, but not least, throughout the season watch the BAND and GroupMe apps and emails for other volunteer opportunities needed to make our season a success!
