April/May
Initial clinics are held for both the drumline/battery and color guard. Part auditions are also held at this time. The first full week of rehearsals is also held.
June
The band holds their fundamentals weeks for all band members, continue rehearsals, and student leaders attend leadership training. Parades also begin in the month of June.
July
The band will always march in the July 4th parade, after which the rest of the month is typically taken off to allow for family vacations and other summer events. Rehearsals may start back up the last week of July.
August
August will start off with Band Camp! For two weeks, the band will get together for 4 to 8 hours per day to begin learning their drill and show for the upcoming year. Rehearsals continue through the month, and school starts! We usually try to always hold a parent show in August as well so that parents can see what their students have been working on for the last couple of months.
September to November
This is the time of year known as competition season. Rehearsals are in full swing, and there will be a parade or two, pep band performances at football games, and marching band competitions (typically on Saturdays). Competition season ends with the state championship at the Red Rocks competition in St. George Utah.
