ELCC Standard Alignment Rationale (Artifact 1): An effective principal needs to be an active member of the district curriculum committee. Having a strong curriculum implementation philosophy is an important piece to building an academically successful school. This relates to the advocacy portion of ELCC because it shows that I will advocate for school policies and programs that promote equitable learning opportunities and student success.

ELCC Standard Alignment Rationale (Artifact 2): This artifact demonstrates the advocacy standard by describing how I would act to influence classroom decisions that affect student learning. Using information gained during informal walk-throughs to aid in the continuous building of teacher development is an important aspect of being an effective leader. Noting the most effective questions during the pre-conference and formulating positive and constructive feedback promote student success through teacher advocacy.
