My Name is Joe Albright and I’m from Canton, Ohio. I was a nontraditional college student when first obtaining my bachelor's degree in middle level (grades 4-9) education - licensed in math and science. After 7 years in retail management, I went back to school with the thought of being able to spend more time with my family. I graduated with my bachelors of arts in education 5 years later.
Since becoming a teacher I have worked 1 year as a 5th grade math teacher, 3 years as a 6th grade science teacher, and 3 years as a 7th grade science teacher. I am science department lead teacher at my middle school, coach middle school girls basketball, and middle school track.
I like to be outdoors, spending time in nature. I enjoy golfing, working in my yard, and watching sports both live and on TV. I’m an adventure enthusiast. Although I have always lived in or around Canton, Ohio, I have traveled quite a bit. I like “cruising” and have been to many of the Caribbean Islands, Mexico, Belize, and Honduras. Canada is a short drive and I have visited multiple times. One of my favorite places to visit though, is Mackinac Island, Michigan.
Gaining a masters degree in educational administration allows for growth as an educator. It allows me to become more financially stable and reach professional goals through opening doors to more vertical career movement within the school system. It will allow me to further my career in education and continue to build positive relationships with students.
