ELCC Standard Alignment Rationale:
Discovering the Relationship Between the Law and Your School: Finding important resources to guide the principal through his duties is important. Learning to use the District and Board Policy Book and Student Handbook as they both relate to the district vision is necessary to be a successful leader.
Building a Small Group Budget: This artifact demonstrates that I understand and can efficiently use human, fiscal, and technological resources to manage operations; understand and can monitor and evaluate management and operational systems; and understand and can develop school capacity for distributed leadership. Although it is a small budget in this artifact, the skills learned and demonstrated can be utilized in the creation, implementation, and coordination of a whole school budget.
Establishing a Continuous Professional Learning Culture: This artifact aligns with ELCC 3 "Resources" because it shows how I would develop teacher and organizational time in a way that promotes a focus on supporting high-quality instruction and student learning. The professional development plan I developed provides a deeper understanding of technological resources in a school environment while promoting a positive school culture.
Clinical Field Experience D: Beginning Teacher Observation and Feedback: Learning, understanding, and utilizing the multistep system for completing the observation cycle as an administrator is extremely important. Ensuring that instructional time focuses on supporting student engagement and success through pre-conference suggestions, teacher observations, and post-conference feedback demonstrates my ability to monitor and evaluate school management and operational systems.
Adverse Situations: This artifact aligns with ELCC 3 "Resources" because it shows my ability to use the resources and operational systems within the school provided to handle adverse situations as they arise. It shows my ability to monitor and evaluate the schools management systems as they relate to emergency situations. It also explains how I plan to promote school based policies and procedures that protect the welfare and safety of students and staff within the school.
