Exit Slips

Purpose:

• An exit slip is for the teacher to quickly gather information on student understanding in order to prepare for the follow-up lesson or activity.

Why do we use them?

• Exit slips are quick formative assessments used to check for understanding of a concept at the end of a lesson or class period.

What are they?

• An exit slip is a "ticket" out the door that answers a question, solves a problem, assesses a skill, or checks for a general understanding of the material presented.

Exit Tickets Can Be:

• Post-It Notes

• Note Cards

• Slips of Paper

• Exit Ticket Template

• Secret out the Door 

• Digital (google forms, survey, etc)
