Literacy in Science

Literacy includes more than just the ability to read and comprehend text.  It also includes the skills necessary in evaluating data, interpreting graphs, dissecting informational texts and connecting concepts.  All of these skills are necessary to evaluate claims for validity and to think scientifically, which are the goals of scientific literacy.
