WHO: All Interested 6th, 7th & 8th Graders!!

WHAT: Track & Field Tryouts

WHERE: LMS Practice Track or Gym

WHEN: Boys' Sprinting Events: January 26, 2026, 3:15-4:30pm at the LHS Track.

Girls' Sprinting Events: January 27, 2026, 3:15-4:30pm at the LHS Track.

Distance & Field Events: January 28, 2026, 3:15-5:15pm at the LHS Track. 

Please have your rides pick you no later than 15 minutes after tryouts end.

HOW: Students will sign-up by turning in a teacher recommendation form and returning the bottom portion of the tryout letter (after January 1st, but due the Wednesday before tryouts).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Complete physical packets MUST be completed and uploaded into the student's Dragonfly Max account in PRIOR to conditioning/tryouts. Students need to have athletic shoes, athletic pants/shorts, tshirt, and water bottle/water jug. If you own a pair of running spikes, please bring them. Students, that make the team, will need to have black bottoms and black undergarments to wear under the uniform. Students, that make the team, are encouraged to purchase spikes (sprinters only) and throwing shoes (throwers).

ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY:

1st Semester Eligibility is based on a student being promoted. If a student is promoted, they are eligible for 1st semester.

2nd Semester Eligibility is based on the student passing 5 of 6 classes during the 1st semester.

A student who will reach the age of 16 on or prior to May 1st is not eligible in middle school competition.

CONDITIONING:

There will be no pre-season conditioning this year.
