Welcome to LMS Softball!

WHO: All Interested 6th, 7th & 8th Graders!!

WHAT: Softball Tryouts

WHERE: LMS Softball Field or Gym

WHEN: August 5-6, 2024.  2:45-4:30pm. Please have your rides pick you no later than 4:45pm.

HOW: Students will sign-up by turning in the sign-up form at the bottom of the tryout letter (due the first day of tryouts).

SKILLS ASSESSED:

Fielding, throwing, hitting, running, attitude, and coachability 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

     Complete physical packets MUST be updated in Dragonfly Max BEFORE conditioning/tryouts.

ALL physicals MUST be current and uploaded into Dragonfly Max. We will not accept any paper physicals.

Students need to have cleats, bat, glove, helmet, and water bottle/water jug.

Students should wear cleats, softball pants/short, and tshirt for tryouts.

Students should bring equipment to school and will be allowed to store it in the locker room.

Students will be allowed to change after school and go down to the softball field.

For students that make the team, a jersey and one pair of socks will be provided. 

Students will need to purchase black softball pants and a black/white/maroon belt. 

There will be a parent/guardian meeting on Monday August 7, 2021 at 4:45pm in the cafeteria.

ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY:

1st Semester Eligibility is based on a student being promoted. If a student is promoted, they are eligible for 1st semester.

2nd Semester Eligibility is based on the student passing 5 of 6 classes during the 1st semester.

A student who will reach the age of 16 on or prior to May 1st is not eligible in middle school competition.

SPRING 4-ON-1 Training:

May 13-16, 2024 from 2:45-4pm.  Contact Coach Chancey for details.

Please have your rides pick you up no later than 4:15pm.

We will need to have own equipment. 

Athletes will be taught football basics and techniques.

CONDITIONING:

Pre-season conditioning TBA.

We will NOT be wearing or using any equipment.
