The Theatre Prayer:

The Theatre Prayer is said backstage during pre-show hype circles. Though not mandatory, many performers find it beneficial to re-center their thoughts and hearts before stepping on stage.

"There is magic in the theatre, and the theatre is magic. Blessed are those who possess this magic. The talent, or talents, that you possess are your gifts from God. How you use those gifts is your gift back to God. Break legs!"

Rehearsal Calendar:

This is the comprehensive calendar for all production rehearsals for the year. Dates and times are subject to change. Please note that specific calls for each rehearsal will be based on the availability of each production's cast and creative team.

Welcome to the Roundtable Players Audition Process

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the Evans High School Roundtable Players.

Auditions are an opportunity for students to demonstrate their preparation, creativity, collaboration, and commitment to the theatrical process.

The purpose of an audition is not only to determine casting, but also to identify each student's strengths as a performer and collaborator.

Every student who auditions is valued as an important member of our theatre community.

Casting Philosophy

Casting is one of the most challenging responsibilities in theatre.

Casting decisions are based on:

The needs of the production
Character requirements
Student preparation
Performance skills
Ensemble balance
Growth potential
Professionalism
Conflicts

Casting decisions are NOT based on:

Seniority
Previous roles
Friendship
Popularity
Personal preference

Every production requires different skills and choices. A student who is not cast in a particular role is not a reflection of their talent or value.

Audition Requirements

Students should prepare the following:

Vocal Selection - For Musical Productions Only

A prepared song demonstrating:

Vocal ability

Musicality

Storytelling

Character choices

Dance Audition

Students will demonstrate:

Ability to learn choreography
Musicality
Energy
Ensemble awareness

Acting Portion

Students may be asked to:

Read scenes from the script
Work with other actors
Make adjustments based on direction
Participate in improvisation exercises
