2026-2027 Season of Community
by Arthur Miller
At the heart of The Crucible is a community torn apart by fear, suspicion, and the dangerous consequences of hysteria. Set during the Salem witch trials, the play examines what happens when trust within a community begins to erode and individuals are forced to choose between personal integrity and public acceptance. As accusations spread and relationships fracture, the story reveals both the fragility and the importance of truth, justice, and compassion. The Crucible reminds us that communities are shaped not only by moments of unity, but also by how people respond in times of fear and division.

In You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, community is seen through the joyful and sometimes chaotic world of childhood friendship. Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Sally, Schroeder, and Snoopy each bring their own quirks, insecurities, and dreams, yet together they create a world filled with imagination, humor, and heart. Through small moments of kindness, frustration, encouragement, and play, the musical reminds us that belonging does not require perfection. Instead, community grows through acceptance, shared experiences, and the simple act of being there for one another.

by Jerre Dye
In Jerre Dye's Cicada, community is explored through the experience of someone who feels invisible within the world around them. The story follows a worker who longs to belong in a society that often overlooks individuality and kindness. As the character struggles with isolation, the play becomes a powerful reflection on the importance of empathy, acceptance, and creating spaces where every person is valued. Through its imaginative storytelling and emotional honesty, Cicada reminds us that community is not simply about being surrounded by people, but about truly being seen and understood.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time invites audiences to experience the world through a different perspective. As Christopher navigates relationships, uncertainty, and overwhelming situations, the story reveals both the difficulties and the importance of communication, patience, and compassion within families and communities. The play challenges audiences to reconsider assumptions and recognize the value of understanding experiences different from their own. In doing so, it offers a moving reminder that true community is rooted in empathy — in learning to listen, support, and connect even when understanding does not come easily.

Puffs celebrates the idea that community can be found among the overlooked and underestimated. Set in a world of magic and adventure, the play focuses not on the heroes at the center of the story, but on the loyal, ordinary students who support one another through every challenge. Their friendships are built on encouragement, resilience, and humor, showing that belonging does not come from fame or greatness, but from standing together and embracing who you are. At its heart, Puffs is a joyful reminder that even the “side characters” have stories worth telling and communities worth celebrating.
NOTE: This production will be performed by the students enrolled in Advanced Acting and produced by the students enrolled in Technical Theatre. Rehearsals during Tech Week will be 3p-7p each night.
