7 News Arts All-Star
Congratulations to the following students for their placement in the 2026 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards were founded in 1923 and, for more than a century, have inspired bold ideas in creative teens throughout the country.
Entries are selected for awards without knowledge of the student’s gender, age, ethnicity, or hometown by some of the foremost leaders in the visual and literary arts. Jurors look for works that exemplify the Awards’ core values: originality, skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision.
This year the Central New York Region had 4,989 Individual entries and 141 Art and Photography portfolios entered.
Only 1392 of those pieces were accepted, with 309 Gold Keys, 438 Silver Keys, and 645 Honorable Mentions awarded.
