December 5, 2023

Seadog Families,

Let’s celebrate the following Superior Seadog Students of the Week: Bentley Luckett, Lydia Barbour, Raven Ahrens, Semaj White, Luca (Dialeo) Dalleo,  and Daniela Leon-Hernandez

This week our school community will be focusing on the Other People Mindset of Knowing That My Words and Actions Affect Others. Everything that you say and do can affect others -- and your relationships with them.

This week is also Computer Science Education Week.  Ms. Wilson will work very closely with each class on “The Hour of Code and technology integration.” Some upcoming dates to remember are December 11th- 15th will be our Holiday Shop and Next, Wednesday December 13th is our Seadog Singers Concert at 6:30. We look forward to seeing you there!

We live in a world surrounded by technology. And we know that whatever field our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly depend on understanding how technology works. But only a fraction of us are learning how technology works. Only 51% of all high schools offer computer science. That’s why our entire school is joining in on the largest learning event in history: The Hour of Code, during Computer Science Education Week (December 4-11). More than 100 million students worldwide have already tried an Hour of Code. Our Hour of Code is making a statement that Beaufort Elementary is ready to teach these foundational 21st-century skills.  This is a chance to change the future of education

Upcoming Dates:

12/4-12/11 Hour of Code Week

12/11-12/15 Holiday Shop

12/13- Seadog Singers Concert 6:30

Thank you for your continued support! And remember, Seadog Students, if no one has told you today, know that Mrs. Clemmons deeply cares about you.

My Words & Actions Affect Others

This week our school community will be focusing on the Other People Mindset of Knowing That My Words and Actions Affect Others. Everything that you say and do can affect others -- and your relationships with them.

Everything we do, say, text, tweet, snap, or post can positively or negatively impact other people. Our words and our actions are our choices to make, but they can have ripple effects long after we make them. Words and actions have the power to lift others up or tear them down, but, our words and actions also impact ourselves. When a group is comprised of individuals who are thoughtful about their words and actions -- individuals who show respect and consideration for the people around them -- we’re likely to have a happier and healthier culture.

To practice and encourage the character strength of perspective with your child, please visit the Positivity Project’s P2 for Families (password: P2), where together you will watch a video, read a quote, and talk about the answers to three questions.
