August 29, 2023

Dear Seadog Families,

I hope this message finds you well. This is Principal Charity Clemmons, and I'm thrilled to welcome you back to school on Monday, August 28th. As we prepare for the upcoming week, there are several important details to note:

School Schedule:

Student Arrival: Please remember that student arrival begins at 7:30 AM each day. It's important for students to arrive on time to ensure a smooth start to the day.

Breakfast: Kindergarten Students: Kindergarten students will enjoy breakfast with their class. This will be a great opportunity for them to start their day off right.

Grades 1-5: Students in grades 1-5 are invited to have breakfast in the cafeteria. It's a chance for them to socialize and energize before classes begin.

Kindergarten Drop-off:

For the first week, until Tuesday, September 5th, parents or guardians are welcome to walk their Kindergarten students to class. We understand the importance of a smooth transition during this period.

On September 5th, as our Kindergarten students take their steps towards independence, we will celebrate Independence Day. From then on, Kindergarten students will walk to class on their own.

Boo-Hoo Breakfast for Kindergarten Parents:

We invite all Kindergarten parents to join us for a Boo-Hoo Breakfast on Thursday, August 31st, from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM in the lobby. Whether you're feeling a bit teary-eyed or overjoyed, this event is a celebration of you. A big thank you to our PTO for organizing this wonderful gathering.

Transportation:

Communication: Please communicate with your child's teacher about their daily transportation arrangements. To minimize confusion, we kindly ask that you avoid frequent changes to your child's transportation method. Transportation changes will not be accepted over the phone or through Class Dojo. Please provide a written note in your child's communication folder for any changes.

Early Check-outs: Early check-outs will conclude at 2:30 PM. If your child needs to be checked out early, please ensure that appointments are scheduled before this time.

Meal Prices:

School Meals: Breakfast will cost $1.50, while lunch will be priced at $3.00 for the upcoming year. For those eligible, Free and Reduced Lunch applications can be accessed through the Carteret County Public Schools Child Nutrition website.

Car-Pool and Bus Procedures:

Car-Pool Students: If you're a car-pool parent, please display your car tag when entering the campus. This will contribute to a streamlined dismissal process.

Kindergarten Bus Riders: A reminder that Kindergarten students must have an adult present at the bus stop for drop-off. Please ensure that you're at the bus stop to receive your child. In the event that there's no adult present, the student will return to the school for their safety.

Seadog Students- “If no one has told you today, know that I deeply care about you!”
