Choice Boards provide students with the power to choose “how” to learn a particular subject or concept. This freedom encourages them to be more responsible, accountable and independent in their learning. It also allows them to work on the activities at their own pace. Point systems may be included to encourage students to choose the more difficult options, therefore earning more points or higher grades.
A math menu is a list of options for math activities, done individually or in pairs, often posted on chart paper, in Google Classroom, or printed weekly handouts. Activities are differentiated, and students choose the order in which they want to do the activities and which, if any, they want to repeat.
