Wellness Center Guidelines for students
The CHS Wellness Center wants to offer a safe, compassionate and respectful environment to all students. When you visit the Wellness Center here are some things to remember:
Let your teacher know if you need to come to the Wellness Center and return to class once your wellness visit ends.
When a student comes to the Wellness Center for the first time, the student will meet with one of our mental health providers for an individual check-in and orientation to our process, and confidentiality guidelines and answer any additional questions the student might have about the services provided.
Please reach out to our Wellness Center Coordinator (sprofeta@carmelunified.org) or come by to schedule an appointment if you are interested in an individual session with a mental health provider.
Be intentional with your time. Decompressing is an opportunity to "reset" emotionally and practice therapeutic skills to help you feel better and ready to return to class. Our team can assist you if you need support.
Remember other students use the WC because they want a quiet space to take care of themselves, so please find another place to hang out with your friends during lunch or break.
Be respectful of this environment and others when you come to the Wellness Center by having appropriate conversations, keeping the volume down, and a clean space.
Maintain the confidentiality of who you see coming in or leaving the Wellness Center.
The Wellness Center is not meant as a place to avoid class/school activities or gather with friends when feeling bored during class.
What you share here is kept confidential and will not be shared with anyone. There are some exceptions to confidentiality. Please refer to some of our FAQ sections to learn more about the limits of confidentiality.
