Community Service
All CHS students are required to complete 20 hours of community service total (not per year) as stated in Board Policy 5122 as a graduation requirement.
Community service can be completed by working without pay for a non-profit organization that benefits your fellow man, the environment, or the animal kingdom. If you are paid for a service, it is not considered community service. Fundraising for a team is also not considered community service.
Community service can begin to be logged the day after a student finishes 8th grade.
Community service hours do not have to be all completed with the same organization or project.
Community service forms can be printed from this website (link below).
When hours are completed, please scan and email the form to Ms. Sharma at vineeta.sharma@carlsbadusd.net.
Be sure to scan a business card, or a letter from the service organization on their letterhead.
Your hours will then be recorded and logged in your Aeries account.
Hours can be viewed by logging into Aeries, clicking on the "Student Info" tab and then the "Awards and Activities" tab.
Please keep your completed form(s) for your records.
Please note, Community Service Forms MUST be submitted digitally, with a scanned business card from the organization as well. Hard copy forms will not be accepted!
