5/4/20 Activities and Supplemental Materials

For today's At Home Activities, please have your child complete the following:

Literacy:

  • Word Play Lesson Video: Your child's teacher will be posting a Word Play lesson video to your child's SeeSaw account. Your child should watch and follow along with his/her teacher.
  • Journal Writing: Your child should write a journal entry about something he/she has been doing while at home or any other true story that has happened. This activity will be posted to your child's SeeSaw account and is also available to print by clicking on the link below.

*As an added extension, we would like to ask your child to also make a recording of him/her reading their journal entry. This may be done in SeeSaw either by creating a voice recording with a photo of the entry.

Friendly reminder: We do not expect conventional spelling in your child's writing. They should do their best to stretch or tap out the words they want to write and write the letters for the sounds they hear. They should also use spaces (i.e. finger spaces) between their words and try to remember starting a sentence with an uppercase letter and end with punctuation. Students may also try to use some trick words in their writing as well.

Physical Education - Mrs. Carmel / Mr. Hunt / Mrs. Laughlin

An activity has been placed in the Activities section of the Seesaw account, entitled "May 4th-8th FUN FITNESS MONTH- MAY." The activity will be used for both days your son/daughter has P.E. and is broken down to reflect what is expected each day.

Please email your child's PE teacher with any questions or concerns.

Art - Mrs. Levy

Hi Kindergarten Friends,

Please go to your Seesaw account to listen to the read aloud of "Linnea in Monet's Garden". I will be posting a Monet art inspired activity for you to compete on Tuesday.

If you missed last Tuesday's zoom session, Henri Matisse inspired "Snail Collage", I have posted the video on Seesaw. Once you have completed the activity, please post your amazing creations to your Seesaw journal page.

For this activity you will need the following materials: printable snail template (see below), crayons and/or markers, scissors, glue stick, paper scraps (colored paper, old newspaper, magazines, junk mail, etc.).

When printing out the snail template, please set printer to LANDSCAPE.
