4/27/20 Activities and Supplemental Materials

Kindergarten - Weekly Template

For today's At Home Activities, please have your child complete the following:

Literacy:

  • Journal Writing: Your child should write a journal entry about something he/she has been doing while at home or any other true story that has happened. This activity will be posted to your child's SeeSaw account and is also available to print by clicking on the link below.

Friendly reminder: We do not expect conventional spelling in your child's writing. They should do their best to stretch or tap out the words they want to write and write the letters for the sounds they hear. They should also use spaces (i.e. finger spaces) between their words and try to remember starting a sentence with an uppercase letter and end with punctuation. Students may also try to use some trick words in their writing as well.

Specialist Activities

Physical Education - Mrs. Carmel / Mr. Hunt / Mrs. Laughlin

An activity has been placed in the Activities section of the Seesaw account, entitled "April 27-May 1 Grades K-2 Locomotor Skills." The activity will be used for both days your son/daughter has P.E. and is broken down to reflect what is expected each day.

Please email your child's PE teacher with any questions or concerns.

Art - Mrs. Levy

Hi Kindergarten Friends,

We will be having our next live art zoom tomorrow, Tuesday, April 28th at 11 AM. Our activity will still be in connection to the story "When Pigasso Met Mootisse". For this week's activity we will focus on the artist Henri Matisse, and his artwork titled "The Snail".

For our zoom session you will need the following materials: printable snail template (see below), crayons and/or markers, scissors, glue stick, paper scraps (colored paper, old newspaper, magazines, junk mail, etc.).

When printing out the snail template, please set printer to LANDSCAPE.

Music - Ms. Thomforde

Week of April 27 - May 1:

Dear Families,

Being mindful about screen time is something that is important to me in my personal life as well as in my teaching. Moving forward, I will be providing no more than one video or Zoom lesson per week. At the same time, I hope to help students participate in active music making as much as possible. And so I present to you my first audio lesson, podcast style. I hope you enjoy it!
