This week, we are visiting North America, which is the continent where we live! But we will visit other countries that are part of our continent, as well as islands nearby.

Today, some of you will be watching a video from Canada, which is a big country north of us. The people of Canada speak English or French, or both! In the video, a group of high school students are acting out a song that is partly in English and partly in French. The song is about a man selling fruit, who falls in love with a woman, and the woman tricks him into giving her fruit for free. Their actions will help you understand the story.

Some of you will be watching a video from Nevis, which is a Tropical island in an area known as the Caribbean. The dance costumes in the video are important to the people of Nevis. They represent the people's confidence and pride in their culture. It is a long video, so feel free to just watch a few minutes of it if you don't want to watch the whole thing. Both videos involve costumes, to help the performers get their message across to the audience. After watching the video, see if you can create a costume to help get a message across to your audience. You can dress like the performers in the video and perform to their song, or you can perform a different song with a different costume. You can even make up your own song for this activity (don't forget a costume!)

Chinese 中文

Do you miss our Chinese class? How about have some Chinese meditation today? If you have sisters or brothers, you can invite them to join you. I believe they know how to do it as well. Remember in the hallway we greet each other and then sit down criss-cross applesauce, close your eyes, breathe in and out, imagine the beautiful sunshine above your head, open your both hands as the solar penpals, charge good happy energy... Here is the music. Enjoy it!
