We are providing you with one focus area/standard to work on throughout the week- in Math and ELA. If you do not have the materials shown below, get creative! You can substitute math manipulatives and books with whatever you have at home! If you complete all of these, go ahead and do any of the activities listed in the other tabs above!

Big Idea: Classifying/Sorting
Attributes: shape, size and color
Materials: Small items/toys that you can use to practice sorting and classifying.
Legos, sticky notes, cars, etc.

Materials: Caring For Earth Book, Paper and Pencil or Whiteboard and Marker
Extension Activity: Make a Reading Cape and a Pointer Power Wand! (Earth Day inspired)
Materials: Old T-Shirt, Scissors, Markers, Stick from the yard, and String! (Add more fun details to your cape with stickers, paint, fabric...etc)
Take a picture of your cape and/or reading stick and send it to your teacher!
Phonics Activity: Add and Delete
Materials: Whiteboard and Marker
Big Idea: Creating a Graph- using items found outside.
Materials: A total of 15 sticks, rocks and trash. Paper and writing utensil.
If weather allows, you could make your graph outside with chalk!
Don't forget to send a picture of your completed graph to your teacher!
Big Idea: Writing an Opinion Letter
Materials: Pencil and Paper. *Crayons or Colored Pencils
Take a picture of your work and send it to your teacher!

Extension Activity: Make a fun poster to hang in your house! (click the link)
In bold fun letters write one way you want others to help the Earth! Decorate your poster.
You could send a letter to a loved one telling them your opinion about them! Tell them why you love them and why the make you happy!
