Even when you are at home you can still strive to be a CIS star!
Make the choice today to act as a role model.
Make the choice today to take responsibility for your learning and your behavior.
Make the choice today to be respectful.
Although students may choose when they complete their class assignments each day, it is recommended that students get into a routine and schedule that they will follow during our time utilizing a Distance Learning model. At this time, CIS teachers suggest students follow this schedule.

The primary vehicles for Distance Learning assignments and resources for grades 4-6 will be email and Google apps. Parents will receive a weekly (Special areas) or daily (core classes) email outlining that week's/day's assignments . Students are expected to log in on school days and visit their teacher's Google classrooms to learn about their assignments.
Reasonable expectations will be that children participate daily in the activities and lessons assigned by his/her teacher(s). Teachers will provide additional guidance and details in their daily communications with you.
Students are expected to participate in class activities each day and teachers will be monitoring this. If a student is unable to complete assignments the student and/or parent should contact the teacher(s). Students who are absent will be responsible for doing the required daily work on their own time as they would in any other situation in which they may have been absent from school.
If a child is sick and unable to complete the daily learning activities, parents should email the teachers and school nurse (rtownsley@cantonschools.org) to let them know. Students will be responsible to make up the work when they are well. However, we will all need to be flexible and understanding as we use Distance Learning to address individual student needs.
If a teacher is sick and/or unable to be online for office hours or regular communications, they will let students and parents know each morning.
