Hibakusha have experienced the hardships of nuclear war. Their stories are hard to listen to, as they relive one of the largest catastrophes in human history. Our group believes that as the last generation to hear from the hibakusha, it is our duty to share their stories. We decided to curate an immersive installation in the Black Box Theatre, projecting images, quotations, stories, and testimonies from the hibakusha. We researched both American and Japanese perspectives, before and after the bombs were dropped. Our goal is to raise awareness about the weapons which continue to impact us today. As the future generation, we have to fight for nuclear disarmament across the world.
