The Camp Verde Unified School District Special Services Department is dedicated to ensuring that every student has access to an inclusive, supportive, and high-quality educational experience. Through collaboration with families, educators, community partners, and related service providers, our department works to identify and address the unique needs of students while promoting academic achievement, independence, and meaningful participation in school and community life.
Our mission is to provide individualized supports and services that empower students to reach their fullest potential in the least restrictive environment. We are committed to fostering a culture of respect, belonging, accountability, and positive relationships while ensuring compliance with federal and state special education requirements. The department supports a wide range of programs and services, including Child Find activities, evaluations, Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), Section 504 coordination, related services, transition planning, preschool special education, assistive technology, behavior supports, and special education programming across all district schools.
The Special Services Department is led by Michelle Warburton, Special Services Director, who provides leadership and oversight for special education programs, related services, compliance, and district initiatives designed to improve outcomes for students with disabilities. Supporting these efforts is Brooks Stanfield, Special Services Coordinator, who assists with program implementation, staff support, procedural guidance, and service coordination throughout the district. Julie Kennedy, Special Services Secretary, serves as the department's primary administrative support professional, coordinating records, scheduling, communication, and operational functions that help ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
Together, the Special Services team is committed to partnering with students, families, staff, and the community to create opportunities for success and to ensure that all students receive the support they need to learn, grow, and thrive. We are proud to serve the students and families of Camp Verde Unified School District and look forward to working collaboratively to meet the diverse needs of our school community.
