The primary responsibility of the Camas School District is to ensure that every student is known by name, strength, and need, and graduates ready for continued learning, career, and citizenship. We believe the entire community benefits when every child succeeds: therefore we have a collective responsibility and require accountability to ensure that children of every race, national origin, language, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, socioeconomic status, socio-emotional well-being, and ability reach their full potential.
The superintendent will develop procedures for building the conditions and capacities to ensure that each student is seen and served. Ultimately, our goal is equity, and we will know we have met that goal when the factors that predict any student’s success or opportunity are no longer correlated with any group identity (included but not limited to race, socioeconomic status, ability, and gender). Appropriate evaluations and accountability measures will be enacted to measure effectiveness through bringing disaggregated data to the Board. Staff will provide information on how funding is differentiated based on student need, or how programs or services are being implemented to ensure each student is being served.
