EXTENDING LITERACY INSTRUCTION AT HOME
The suggested times outlined are guidelines for extending literacy instruction. As we strive throughout the state to increase the literacy skills and habits of all students, the power of reading and writing cannot be underestimated.

Pre-K - Grade 1: 5-10 minutes per day
Grades 2-4: 10-15 minutes per day
Grades 5 -6: 20 minutes per day
Grades 7-12: 30 minutes per day
