Xello is an online career exploration and planning website that includes interest inventories and learning style assessments to help students identify and explore career interests. Xello is also a resource for information about specific careers, colleges, and employers.
All Cadott students in grades 6 to 12 have access to individual Xello accounts to use on their own and as part of guided classroom activities to assist in their academic and career planning. Students can save careers and colleges of interest, write reflections, complete lessons, document career-based learning experiences, set goals, and more in their ACP Portfolio on Xello.
Parents will receive instructions on how to access their child's Xello account so they can monitor and encourage progress.
My Future is an online resource that helps students explore career paths, set goals, and plan for life after high school. It offers tools for career exploration, education planning, and skill development, making it a valuable guide for students preparing for their future. It may be useful for any future career plans, but is especially so for those interested in military careers, providing detailed information about branches, requirements, and opportunities.
Using AI for career exploration allows students to quickly discover career paths, learn about different industries, and get personalized suggestions based on their interests and skills. AI tools can help with researching jobs, exploring education requirements, and even practicing interview questions, making career planning more interactive and accessible. However, AI should always be used carefully, students should verify information and seek guidance from teachers, counselors, or trusted sources when making important decisions.
Examples of questions you might ask AI:
“Based on my favorite classes (___, ) and activities (____), what careers might be a good fit for me and why?”
“What careers connect to someone who enjoys ___ but isn’t sure what major to choose yet?”
“If I don’t know whether I want to go to college, trade school, or straight to work, what options should I explore?”
“Compare two careers I’m considering (___ vs. ___) in terms of schooling, cost, lifestyle, and job outlook.”
“What are the pros and cons of ______ job?”
“Tell me about ______ career.”
