MUSIC, ART & PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Physical Education

I am excited for another year of building the foundation of movement with our Cadott students.  I love the opportunity to help students build character and respect from the ground up. This will be my fourth year at Cadott Elementary.

My wife (Casey) and I both graduated from Cadott High School and have lived here throughout the past eight years. We have four children (Obadiah-5, Hattie-3, Nehemiah-2, and Hezekiah-9 mo.) We enjoy going on UTV rides, hunting, fishing, rock climbing, and spending time outdoors. I take pride in teaching and coaching to help our students reach their full potential.

Cadott has always been my destination school. I love our community, and I really enjoyed my childhood here. I hope to give back to our youth, as I’m thankful for all our village has given to me. I love that I am able to use the talents God has blessed me with to help strengthen our community.

Reminder: Make sure your student(s) have shoes for PE.  You may want your student to bring a change of shoes/socks as we will be going outside and coming back in.

Physical Education

My name is Sean Hurt and I am one of the Elementary Physical Education Teachers. This is my first year officially teaching and first year in Cadott. Last year, I got the opportunity to work with the students for my student teaching placement with Mr. Yeager in the fall and subbed all around the elementary school last year to finish out the school year. I attended the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire and earned a degree in Physical Education, Health, Adaptive Physical Education, and Coaching. This year will be my second year as the varsity assistant baseball coach for Cadott.

I grew up in Bloomer and now live in Eau Claire. In my free time, I like to hangout with my family, go to the gym, play baseball, and golf with my friends. I enjoy teaching Physical Education because I am able to teach my students activities and games for them to live a healthy lifestyle now and for long after they are out of my class. I look forward to seeing the students improve their skills and movement throughout the school year.

Art

My name is Ashley Palmer and I am the Elementary Art Teacher.  This is my 12th year teaching and 3rd in Cadott.  At the start of my teaching career, I taught elementary art in the Hudson for 3 years and Jr. High and High School art in Sturgeon Bay for 6 years.  Before I was at Cadott, I met my husband Matt  and spent 3 years as the Program Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters.  I oversaw their mentoring program and child safety.

I grew up in Thorp and live there now with my husband, two children and our miniature bulldog named Wilson.  We have a two year old little girl, Emberly and a one year old boy named Greyson!  I enjoy doing things that let me use my creativity and problem solve, like cooking and decorating cakes.  I also love dogs and spending time outside camping and planting flowers.

I love teaching art and am so glad that I get to do it in Cadott!  I am so blessed to be able to see 450 students and the awesome art they create!  I am looking forward to another great school year!

Choir

My name is Mariellen Grossinger and I have been the elementary music teacher in Cadott since 2018.  I completed my music education degree from Northwestern College, St. Paul, in 1998 and taught for six years in Minnesota.  We started our family in 2004 and I was honored to stay home to raise our four daughters for thirteen years.  We moved to Fall Creek, WI, in 2005 and I taught piano and voice lessons at our house while I was home with our girls. When I am not busy with our four girls' (they are all teenagers now!!) schedules, I enjoy singing, reading, baking, getting outside in the garden, taking walks, being a worship leader at church and visiting with friends.  To be completely honest, those things are not as frequent as they used to be!  We are loving our busy life with our girls and are trying to enjoy each moment.

I have really enjoyed stepping back into the music classroom and connecting with our awesome Cadott Elementary students. We have so much fun bringing joy to each other and our community through music!  What a blessing it is to  work with the amazing staff and students here.  There is so much love and joy shared each and every day and it makes my heart smile and sing!
