The teacher understands the active nature of student learning and acquires information about levels of development for individual students. The teacher also systematically acquires knowledge from several sources about individual students’ varied approaches to learning, knowledge and skills, special needs, and interests and cultural heritages.

Demonstrating knowledge of students includes the ability to accurately demonstrate students' efforts towards learning. I was able to demonstrate this skill in an Assessment Report of Student Learning. This analysis report was conducted in December of 2020 during the Literacy Practicum. Demonstrated in this report is quality understanding of individual students and their learning differences. I produced data of each individual student and their growth in a formal comprehension test. In addition, I analyzed their growth and how their learning personality affected their growth or the lack thereof. The link to this Assessment Report is here.
One example of when I successfully demonstrated knowledge of students was in my senior practicum. When producing the lesson plan for the class, I highlighted the differentiation needed for a majority of the students. I included the different materials that I would give to the students in order for them to successfully meet those standards. This plan, and differentiated materials demonstrate knowledge of students' individual learning capabilities. The lesson plan is above and the differentiating materials for higher performing students , on-level performing students, and low performing students are linked correspondingly.
