The PSAT test is Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. It measures the critical reading, mathematics, and writing skills your students will need for higher education and careers after high school. This test prepares students for the SAT test and all rules and regulations are governed by the College Board.
Junior students who score exceptionally well (top one percentile or above in the nation) may be eligible to be a finalist for the National Merit Scholarship. Registration for juniors will be open in the spring of their 10th grade year. Interested students must sign up and pay the fee in the spring to take the test in the fall. Interested sophomores may also sign up and pay for the test in the spring of their 9th grade year. Please note, sophomores are not allowed to compete for the scholarship. It is only a practice PSAT for 10 grade students. No fall registration will occur.
