Come if you dare!
At the end of each academic year, interested Boulder High theater students pitch their spookiest ideas for the following year's Haunted House to the adult directors.
Once the Haunted House theme is chosen, student directors work with the various crews: set design, lighting, sound, costume, makeup, and props to bring their vision to life!
Over 200 students work collaboratively to bring this performance to life. There is no other school or high school theater program that allows this level of student insight, design, and creative development. This is the performance that defines Boulder High theater!
Time Frame
The Haunted House build starts in mid-September, culminating in the Haunted House performance on the weekend before and the weekend of Halloween.

Requirements for Students in Haunted House
Rehearsals occur after school from 4-5:30 PM Monday - Thursday.
Students will utilize Discord within their own crews to plan, meet, and discuss their evolving needs throughout preparation.
Actors are required to be present every night of the performances for the full length of the performance.
Members of crews may sign up to "run" on different nights of the performance, offering technical support as necessary.
Time Commitment
If you want to act, you need to also be in a crew. To build a set of this size in a limited time period, students will need to provide both acting and tech.
If you are in crew, you are not required to act, but all actors will need to provide meaningful time on crews.
In order to act, you have to be available for every haunted house night.
All actors and crew members MUST participate in a strike at the end of the performance.
