5A Regionals XC Meet at Monarch HS
Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 10:45am & 11:45am
Location: Monarch HS - 329 Campus Dr, Louisville, CO 80027
Additional Meet Information
WHEN: Thursday October 8th
WHERE: Monarch High School
RACE TIMES:
10:45am/10:47am/10:49am - GIRLS
11:45am/11:47am/11:49am - BOYS
COURSE: 2k Loop, mixture of grass, some dirt and some sidewalk
FORMAT: With 12 teams we will only be able to run 6 athletes per team to stay under the 75 athlete limit. We will have to run three waves with 24 athletes per wave. Based on the course layout we can space the waves by 3min for the girls and 2min apart for the boys so everyone will be on course at the same time. We will have to either 1) break up the team members and run 2 athletes per wave or 2) seed the teams in some fashion which would be tricky.
OTHER INFORMATION
There has been a slight change to the start time, we pushed the start 15min earlier due to an overlap with the timing company. See below.
Your team will be allowed to enter 6 athletes - top 5 athletes score and 6th runner placing is used in the case of a tie.
There will be no extra runners allowed, even though we will be under the 75 athlete allocation
Races will be run in waves (25max per wave), see below for start times
Waves will be seeded per CHSAA guidelines – you will need to pull the best 5K race time from this season. * If an athlete does not have a 5K fastest time this season, they will automatically be placed in the third wave. For example • Wave 1 – the fastest 25 Wave 2 – the next fastest 25 and so on
Entries are due by 5:00pm on Tuesday Oct. 6th - Spreadsheet will be shared with you via Google
Bus drop off can be in the main Monarch Parking Lot at the front of the school
Team Packets can be picked up at 9:30am at the check in tent
Team Tents will be allowed on the primary field that included the Start/Finish
No Spectators are allowed on the primary field, only team tents and coaches
Awards will be provided post race - we will not have an awards ceremony (Per CHSAA) but rather have them for pick up at the check in tent
Masks will be required for all coaches, spectators and athletes
Athletes will be allowed to lower their masks on the start line but will need to keep them with them and replace them in the finish chute
There should be no team huddles or team cheers.
All athletes must all be screened prior to arrival at the meet. If any athlete is sick or has been exposed, it is the coach/school’s responsibility to not allow that student to participate.
Finish placing at Regionals determines what wave the athlete will be seeded in at the State Meet - 1st -5th will be in wave 1; 6th -10th in Wave 2; 11th -15th in wave 3; 16th and greater in wave 4.
