The Agency Team Mentorship Program

Intro


The purpose of The Agency Team Hawai’i Mentorship Program is to provide new agents a support system where they will gain the fundamental knowledge required to start and build a successful real estate career. Mentors shall provide guidance in a practical,

hands-on manner to lead the mentee in the early stages of their career. 


Being a part of the The Agency Team Hawai’i Mentorship Program will exempt new agents from the eXp Mentorship Program requirements and the 20% fee that goes to the eXp Mentorship program.  Rather, a reduced fee of 10% will be paid directly to the mentor from the mentee.  Mentees will still have the option to complete the eXp online training if they wish. 


Team Mentees will include:


All new licensees or agents who have not completed three transactions within the previous 12-month period are required to participate.  It is also available to any agent who would like to have a formal mentor to assist in growing their business. 


Fees and Payment 


Mentees will pay their mentor 10% of their gross commissions from at least their first three transactions with minimum $3,000 GCI.  If the transaction does not meet the minimum GCI, the mentor will not be compensated on that transaction, but it is understood that mentors will be paid on the next three subsequent transactions with a minimum of $3,000 GCI.  Mentees will have the opportunity to continue with their mentor for as many transactions as they choose.  The mentor and mentee may also agree to different compensation based on added assistance needed within a transaction. 


If the mentee is working a team provided lead (e.g. zillow flex lead), the mentor will also receive and additional 5% (to be paid from the team split of the commission).  


Paring System


Establishing a suitable mentee/mentor relationship takes some careful consideration and planning.  Some additional considerations may be taken into account to aid in this selection process and may be at the discretion of The Agency Team Hawai’i Mentorship Program.  A list of team approved mentors is available on the team website.  Mentees may read through online bios in order to select a mentor they wish to work with.  During the onboarding phase of a new agent to The Agency Team Hawai’i, recommendations may be made to assist with selecting a mentor that would be a good fit.   When evaluating a mentor, mentees should consider the type of business the mentor does and has been successful at and the areas the mentor does business.  It is also recommended that mentees interview potential mentors to see if it is a good fit. 

Mentorship Program Process

Step 1:  Mentee selects a mentor to work with.  The mentee should read through the online bios of approved mentors and is also encouraged to interview potential mentors to find someone who is a good fit.  

Step 2:  Once the mentee/mentor relationship has been established, the mentor will assist the mentee with signing The Agency Team Mentorship Program Agreement via digi-sign and email signed copy to onboarding@buybigisland.com

Step 3: Mentee/mentor will follow the Mentee Expectation Checklist (found in the agreement) to completion.

Step 4: Once it has been deemed that the mentee has completed the required tasks of the mentorship program and completed three qualifying transactions, fill out the Mentorship Program Completion Form

Raquel Ah Nee

Andrew Nonaka

Andrew is a 2nd generation realtor and is what we call “Big Island Built”… Born and raised in Kealakekua on Big Island of Hawaii and is a graduate of Konawaena High School. Kapina Lansdale

Justice Pang

Sierra Simpson

Sierra, a native of Hilo, Hawaii, has always had a desire to explore new horizons. Her journey into the world of real estate began at the age of 18 when she was introduced to the development side of the industry at Cemo Commercial in El Dorado Hills, California. Jyoti Young

Jyoti began her real estate career in 2019, one year after moving to Maui from Seattle, WA. Kat Ouano Mobley (Kaua’i) 

In 2018, I began my real estate journey after both of my kids were old enough to be in school, and hung my license with a small boutique brokerage on Kaua’i. Being an entrepreneur my whole life as an independent musician, I thought once I got my license, I would start wheelin’ and dealin’ but I had absolutely no clue where to start! I had a little bit of guidance, but learned mostly through my own research and trial and error. I didn’t know what work meant, I didn’t know where to find clients, I didn’t know what to say and how to say it, and I wasn’t part of a team that could guide me. I knew I needed extra help and right before the pandemic hit I joined eXp and was fortunate to link with Ronnie Margolis who became my mentor.
