History

The course investigates the stories of three countries facing turbulent and dangerous times; England in the 16th century sliding into revolution; Russia coming to terms with its communist revolution in 1917 whilst embracing iconic figures such as Lenin and the struggle of African Americans and others in modern America for civil rights. In addition the course includes the writing of an extended essay on a topic of the student’s own choice – an opportunity to learn more about your favourite period in History.
