To study Fine Art at A Level students are required to undertake in-depth investigations and studies into a variety of artists, materials, techniques and processes. They must make sure that their work demonstrates aesthetic and intellectual concepts for the purpose of self-expression, free of external constraints.
Drawing is a large part of the course and as such there are rigorous demands on the students' constant need to push and demonstrate their skill level. We have designed the projects in the course to allow students to show off all of their skills and understanding through the development and production of the artwork.
Students on the course will develop a wide range of practical skills as well as analytical abilities to review and understand the artists' work. As well as giving the students a bank of artists from which they will learn, we also encourage the students to explore their own individualities and choices of art styles.
