As we are reaching the end of Term 6, Year 5 have had a busy and exciting time continuing our topic, The Mighty Medway. We learnt how to read symbols on Ordnance Survey maps and even sketched out our own maps of the local area. In English, we delved into Great Expectations by Chatham’s own Charles Dickens, imagining life through the eyes of the main character, Oliver. In Maths, we worked hard converting between different units of measurement and explored the concept of volume. Art lessons saw us getting creative with weaving, using a range of materials to practice our techniques. One of our highlights was Sports Day, where we pushed ourselves to run 600m – and loved every moment! We’re incredibly proud of everything we’ve achieved and are looking forward to a well-earned summer break.
