This term, Year 3 have been enjoying the sun as well as continuing to work hard in class. We have continued learning about Ancient Egypt. Part of our learning included an exciting trip to Maidstone Museum to see an actual mummy! We have learnt about where Egypt is in the world and thought about what it would have been like to live in Ancient Egypt. In Art and DT, we have written our names in hieroglyphics on our scrolls we created last term and we have made our own Ancient Egyptian collars so we could fit in with the fashion trend of the time. In English, we have learnt about the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb by Howard Carter and we have imagined that we were there in 1922 when writing diary entries and newspaper columns; we also performed a role play. Everyone has continued to work hard in Maths and Reading and they all completed their last NFER test of the year where everyone did really well and should be proud of their effort. This term also included Sports Day where everyone tried their best at running, throwing, jumping and pulling, and most importantly had fun! It was great to see so many adults come along to cheer us on! Everyone in Year 3 should be really proud of their effort this year and everything they have learnt. We wish everyone a happy summer holidays and best of luck when moving into Year 4 in September!Â
