FAFSA

FAFSA offers financial support to students in low-income families. The counselors and the College Peer Mentors recommend applying for FAFSA no matter what your financial status is! All that's needed to fill out the FAFSA is the completed FSA ID and your parents' 2020 TAX returns (both the student AND a parent need an FSA ID).

For seniors graduating in 2024, fill out the 2023-24 FAFSA form! It opens in December of 2023 and is due March 2nd, 2024. Some aid is first-come-first-serve, so try to fill it out ASAP

*Due to the FAFSA website being currently under construction, we do not yet know the exact dates to start or submit an application, so stay posted! This website is actively updated for your benefit*

Cal Grant

*You do NOT need to pay back Grant Money*

(Offered through completion of the FAFSA Application)

Cal Grant is awarded to students that complete minimal qualifications. To qualify, you must complete FAFSA or CADAA, qualify financially, and have an eligible GPA. The money awarded can be used at a UC, Cal State, California Community College, or specific independent colleges in California.

There are three different types: A, B, and C. Cal Grant A will help pay tuition and fees at a 4-year college. For this grant, you must study to obtain an associate's or bachelor's degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Cal Grant B provides a living allowance along with paying for tuition and fees, and you must have at least a 2.0 GPA. Lastly, Cal Grant C helps the costs for a career or technical education program. This is for two years and does not have a qualifying GPA.

You do not need to apply for any of the Cal Grant types. FAFSA or CADAA will contact you if you are eligible for any.
