Universitas Bung Hatta Achieves “Unggul” Institutional Accreditation on Indonesia’s Independence Day
Padang, West Sumatra August 17, 2025– Universitas Bung Hatta, one of Indonesia’s leading community-based universities, has proudly achieved the highest level of institutional accreditation, _*Unggul*_ , awarded by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). The prestigious accreditation certificate was officially presented by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Higher Education on 17 August 2025, a day of great national significance as Indonesia celebrated its Independence Day.
This milestone reflects the collective dedication of the university’s leadership, faculty, alumni, stakeholders, and the support of the West Sumatra provincial government. It marks a significant recognition of Universitas Bung Hatta’s commitment to academic excellence, community service, and global competitiveness.
Currently, Universitas Bung Hatta offers 34 undergraduate and postgraduate programs across diverse disciplines, including humanities and education, economics and business, as well as technology and engineering. The Faculty of English provides two specialized programs—English Education and Teacher Training and English Literature and Fine Arts—and recently expanded with the launch of a Master’s in Applied Linguistics.
To ensure graduates are well-prepared for professional and entrepreneurial pathways, Universitas Bung Hatta has established a strong quality assurance system through various supporting units, such as the Professional Job Training Center (BLKK), the Professional Certification Institute (LSP), and the Career Development Center (CDC). These initiatives align with the university’s tagline: “Siap Kerja, Menjadi Pengusaha” (“Ready to be Professionals and Entrepreneurs”).
