Rationale
The main thrust of the College of Information Technology in the BSIT Program is to improve strategies, methods and facilitation of learning in building educational excellence. Conducting extension projects and outreach program to our linkages that will contribute to the advancement of knowledge and skills for both teachers and learners. “ACCESS to IT” has been crafted aligned to the program goals of BSIT which is “Innovative and Responsive Research and Public Engagement”. The extension projects conducted by BSIT faculty and students, similar to research is focus in responding to the immediate needs of the community and is envisioned in creating a lot of partnership in the community in technology transfer, computer literacy training and utilization of capstone project of BSIT students. Creating extension and research for use in curriculum enhancement, crafting alternative teaching models or strategies and learning assessment tools or instruments were also some of its priorities.
Objectives
The “ACCESS to IT” Extension Program aims to:
Develop extension projects that will respond to the needs of the community through technology transfer of capstone projects developed by students and teachers.
Become a backbone provider of digital education tools, instruments, methods, strategies and learning modalities for teachers and learners.
Guide the college/ campus in the formulation and recalibration of existing learning guidelines and policies.
